CSTR Supports Plant Labeling for "Guangdong Botanical Garden System"
2026-04-01
On March 27, 2026, a training session on the construction of the Lingnan-characteristic Botanical Garden System was held in Guangzhou. The training was co-hosted by the South China National Botanical Garden and the Key Laboratory of National Forestry and Grassland Administration for Ex Situ Conservation and Utilization of Plants in South China. Representatives from more than 100 relevant institutions under the Forestry Administration of Guangdong Province attended the session.
During the meeting, the South China Botanical Garden introduced a plant labeling scheme based on the CSTR. A live demonstration was conducted on generating identifier QR codes via the BioGrid APP and the practical labeling workflow, followed by on-site practical training. These activities effectively improved participants’ ability in applying standardized digital management of resources.
Supported by the CSTR, the Guangdong Botanical Garden System will carry out plant labeling in batches according to categories: key plants, arbor plants, and endemic plants, so as to realize standardized and digital management of plant resources. The CSTR identification platform will continue to provide technical support for biodiversity conservation and the development of the plant ex situ conservation system.
